Dear Friends of Montessori,

Thank you for your interest in learning more about Barron Area Montessori School. The school is founded on the belief that children learn best through their own experience. Not knowing what you know about Dr. Maria Montessori or the benefits of a Montessori education, we will simply emphasize that the Montessori method encourages and nurtures the full potential of each child in accord with their natural development.

Admissions Procedure
Barron Area Montessori School welcomes children, families, and staff members of all races, cultural origins, abilities, religious beliefs, and socio-economic backgrounds. Children must be toilet trained and self-sufficient in toiletry. To enroll:

1. Parents who wish to enroll their child in the Montessori program must complete an application for their child. Children currently enrolled in the program must submit a new application for the next school year. Please complete the application, child’s profile and parent involvement survey forms.

2. Admission to the Barron Area Montessori School is determined by our annual lottery. Preference is given to the following groups in the order listed: currently enrolled students, siblings of enrolled students, children of active board members and founding families of the school. The lottery process will be completed by computer and occur on the first Friday after the application deadline and throughout the year as needed.

3. Upon acceptance of your child, we will contact you and send you an enrollment contract. If a position is offered to your child, the enrollment forms must be returned to Barron Area Montessori School within 2 weeks.

4. Once the enrollment forms are received, we will hold a place for your child in the Barron Area Montessori School program. Please notify the school as soon as possible should you decide to terminate the contract.

5. If a place is not immediately available, you may wish to be placed on our waiting list. Although it is unlikely, we may experience withdrawals during the summer and encourage parents to remain on a waiting list.
